ongoing spread of COVID‐19 (coronavirus). At HAWC, the health and safety of our customers, communities
and employees is our top priority. We provide an essential service that it is critically important.

We prepare for many scenarios that may impact our ability to serve our customers in order to make sure
our services remain uninterrupted. HAWC has advised all employees that if they are experiencing any
symptoms to remain home as a precaution so as not to infect co‐workers or customers they may come in
contact with, and to notify us if they have traveled to any areas of concern. We are currently maintaining
essential operations and services and advise all to follow the most current guidance from the Center for
Disease Control, as well as state and local agencies.

HAWC has been focused on two high priorities as the spread of the coronavirus as evolved ‐ the health and
safety of our employees and the health and safety of our customers. As such, HAWC will also be suspending
all non‐essential field appointments and will limit the amount and nature of contact with customers during
all emergency field appointments.

If you need to schedule service, our Customer Service team may ask you questions such as whether or not
you have tested positive for COVID‐19 or have been asked to voluntarily quarantine yourself or if you or
anyone in your home is ill or has been within the last 14 days . We ask you to answer these questions
honestly, so that our team of technicians can take the appropriate steps to protect themselves from infection
if a home visit is required.

if you have experienced any of the above we ask that you utilize our drop box outside of our office for
payment of your bill instead of entering the office. If you require a receipt, we will be happy to mail or email
one to you upon request. You may also pay your bill online on HAWC’s website at

We appreciate your assistance during this time. We will continue to monitor and prepare, and we will provide

November 22, 2023 Dear Water Customer, On November 24, 2020, The Hampstead Area Water Company, Inc. (HAWC) filed for a rate increase with the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (NHPUC). The increases in the water rates are designed to allow the Company to recover its costs and to earn a reasonable return on its investment. After due consideration and review by the parties, HAWC, the NH Department of Energy, the NH Office of the Consumer Advocate, the Town of Atkinson and the Town of Hampstead entered into a Settlement Agreement. The NHPUC approved the rate increase incorporated into the Settlement Agreement on June 2, 2022; NHPUC Order Number 26,635. This order includes a rate increase to water charges with two proposed step increases in the future, and the approval to charge for private fire protection in residential homes with fire protection systems. On November 8, 2023, the NHPUC approved the Step 2 Adjustment, Order Number 26,902 . In the Step 2 adjustment the monthly base rate charged by HAWC for customers with a 5/8” meter (most residential customers) will increase from the current rate of $12.89 per month to $14.24 per month. The consumption rate will increase from the current rate of $7.72 per 100cf to $8.41 per 100cf. The private fire protection charges will not change. The complete list of new rates can be found on our website at https://www.hampsteadwater.com/water-rates-fee-info . We at Hampstead Area Water Co., Inc. would like to express our appreciation to you, our customers. We thank you for your support while we continue improving our abilities to better serve you now and into the future.
