The United States Environmental Protection Agency – Water Division is responsible for setting the standards for drinking water quality. The United States Environmental Protection Agency oversees the states, localities and water suppliers, like HAWC, who implement those standards.

The NH Department of Environmental Services – Water Division is responsible for ensuring NH public water utility companies, such as HAWC, comply with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Federal Safe Drinking Water Act , which are the federal laws that ensure the quality of Americans’ drinking water.

The New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission is responsible for the regulation of rates, quality of service, finance, accounting and safety for New Hampshire’s public water utility companies, such as HAWC. View HAWC’s Tariff  for the NHPUC approved rules and regulations.
